Hurricanes Poised to Compete in Pennsylvania
Bethlehem, Penn. – The University of Miami cross country team sets its sights on their second meet of the 2024 season at Lehigh University’s Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Penn.
The Hurricanes will take part in Saturday morning’s gold races. The men’s 8K is scheduled for 11 a.m. with the women’s 6K following after at 11:45 a.m.
For those wanting to keep track of the race, Leone Timing will be the invitational’s official timekeeper; results can be found on their website HERE.
In August at the FAU Invitational, sophomore Maddie Scheier clocked the seventh-fastest 5K time in school history, 17:44.3, for a first-place finish. Scheier’s performance helped lead the Miami women’s team to a second-place finish.
On the men’s side, junior Enrique Borrego and senior Cormac O’Brien are coming off 5K personal bests of 15:26.01 and 15:34.85, respectively. Their times helped secure a first-place finish for the men’s team at the FAU Invitational.
