Lopez Named to Preseason All-ACC Team
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Sophomore Grace Lopez was named to the 2024 Preseason All-ACC Team, the conference announced Thursday morning.
Following an incredible freshman season, Lopez claims the conference accolade after becoming an AVCA All-American.
Last season, Lopez led the team with 407 kills on a .278 hitting percentage. She inked her name all over the Miami record book with 10 entries, including ranking ninth all-time for most kills per set (4.11) in a season to lead the ACC. On top of her dominant hitting, Lopez registered 27 service aces to rank second on the team, as well as earning 178 digs, 38.0 blocks and 454.0 points.
The Aguada, Puerto Rico native was also named to the 2023 ACC All-Freshman Team and All-ACC First Team, on top of being tabbed a two-time NCAA Big Time Performer, two-time ACC Freshman of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week once.
Additionally, the conference released its 2024 Preseason Coaches Poll, where Miami was picked to finish seventh in the conference behind multiple powerhouse teams.
The Hurricanes start the regular season in Denton, Texas, for the UNT Invitational. They will face Rutgers for the first match on August 30.
