Celebrate the Olympics at the UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum
Can’t get enough of the Paris Olympic Games? Celebrate the games of the XXXIII Olympiad all month long at the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame & Museum on the Coral Gables campus. The display of artifacts and photos honoring nearly 30 UMSHoF&M members who have competed in the Games since 1936, along with the 13 current Miami Hurricanes student-athletes can be seen free of charge through Labor Day and ends on September 6.
Items on display include track star Davian Clarke’s bronze medal he won for his native Jamaica in the 4×400 meter relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, legendary baseball coach Ron Fraser’s USA jersey from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, a shirt signed by Lauryn Williams, the only American woman to win medals in both the Summer and Winter Olympics, and the bathing suit worn by diver Brittany Viola-Gonzalez when she won two NCAA Championships and then competed in the 2012 London Olympics. Hats signed by Amy Deem, Miami’s Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, who served as the USA women’s track & field head coach at the 2012 London Olympics, and one by Russell Robinson, 2024 NCAA Indoor triple jump champion and member of the 2024 USA Olympic team, are also on display.
