Hurricanes Fall at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (10-9, 2-6 ACC) fell, 4-0, to Clemson (10-10, 2-5 ACC) on Thursday afternoon at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.

The Tigers took control the match from the beginning, securing the doubles point over two courts. On court three, Wissam Abderrahman and Max Damm took down Sam Baumgartner and Nacho Serra Sanchez, 6-1. Right after, Max Smith and Noa Vukadin claimed the top court, 6-3, against No. 64 Vladislav Melnic and Adrien Burdet.

Miami fought for a way to comeback in singles, but struggled to get the momentum going. Stewart Aronson started the sweep for the Tigers, with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Baumgartner on court five. Then, No. 119 Ryuhei Azuma defeated Prat on court two, 6-3, 6-1, before Marko Mesarovic took down Melnic, 6-4, 6-2, on court three.

The Hurricanes are back on Saturday when they head to play Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga.
