Miami Finishes Tied for Ninth at Clemson Invitational

Senior Sara Byrne tallied her fifth top-five finish of the season after shooting four-under-par.

SUNSET, S.C. – Senior Sara Byrne recorded her fifth top-five finish of the season as the University of Miami golf team placed tied for ninth at the Clemson Invitational in Sunset, S.C., this weekend.

Byrne shot four-under-par (212) to finish tied for fifth among all golfers. She carded a 69 to open the invitational on Friday, followed by a second-round score of 73 and a final-round tally of 70.

As a team, Miami totaled a 54-hole score of 876 (+12) on the par-72, 6,441-yard course at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, to finish tied for ninth with Tennessee out of 16 teams.

Freshman Barbora Bujáková tallied Miami’s second-best score of the invitational, shooting a 217 (+1) over three rounds to conclude the tournament tied for 19th. Bujáková recorded two rounds of par-or-better enroute to her second top-20 finish of the season.

Fellow freshman Rebekah Gardner and sophomore Olivia Grønborg both finished tied for 63rd at 10-over-par (226), while freshman Aada Rissanen and sophomore Katie Carman sat tied for 77th at 16-over-par (232) at the conclusion of play.

The Hurricanes will head to Wilmington, N.C., on April 18-21 for the 2024 ACC Championship.
