Hurricanes off to Hot Start at Corky Classic

LUBBOCK, Tex. – The University of Miami track and field team completed day one of the Corky Classic Friday evening at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

It was quite a stretch of performances from Hurricane high jumpers Kennedy Sauder and Aaron Kim. Sauder finished first with 2.14m while Kim captured a new personal best of 2.14m, earning fourth.

Junior Erikka Hill earned second place in the women’s weight throw, ending with 19.26m while freshman Calea Jackson earned a new personal best of 17.41m, placing sixth. 

Saturday’s events are scheduled to start at 11:40 a.m. ET, beginning with the women’s 1000m. ESPN+ will provide a live stream of all events, which can be found HERE.
