Coach Deem Reveals 2024 Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Amy Deem announced the 2024 indoor and outdoor track and field schedules Wednesday afternoon.
“We’re very excited to start a new season of competition. We’re traveling to some new locations this indoor season with great facilities, but also find ourselves in familiar competitions where we have faced strong competition that will prepare us well for the ACC and NCAA Championships. We’re also looking forward to once again hosting our three outdoor home meets here at the University of Miami to kick off our outdoor season,” Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Amy Deem said.
The Hurricanes will begin their 2024 campaign at the Rod McCray Memorial in Louisville, Ky., on January 12 and 13, the same place the team started last year’s indoor season.
On January 19 and 20, Miami will travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Corky Classic, hosted by Texas Tech University.
Two weeks later, the Hurricanes will compete at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas, hosted by Kansas State University, on February 2 and 3. This marks the first time in program history that Miami will compete at Kansas State.
The last indoor meets before postseason competition will take place on February 9 and 10 at the Tiger Paw Invitational, hosted by Clemson University, and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
The Hurricanes will begin their postseason at the ACC Indoor Championships, hosted by Boston College and The TRACK at New Balance on February 22-24. The new state-of-the-art complex, with a 200-meter hydraulically banked indoor track system and seating for up to 5,000 spectators, will also host the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, slated for March 8 and 9.
The 2024 outdoor season will start in Coral Gables as Miami will host the Hurricane Invitational on March 15 and 16 and the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational on March 23.
The team will close out the month of March with a trip to Gainesville, Fla., for the 2024 Pepsi Florida Relays, then return home for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational on April 5 and 6.
Baton Rouge, La., will be the next road trip for the Hurricanes for the LSU Alumni Gold one-day competition on April 20. The following week, athletes will travel north to Jacksonville, Fla., for the UNF East Coast Relays on April 26 and 27.
Georgia Tech is scheduled to host the 2024 ACC Outdoor Championships on May 9-11 in Atlanta, Ga., for the first competition of Miami’s postseason outdoor schedule. Two weeks later, the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds will be hosted in Lexington, Ky., on May 22-25, and the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships will travel back to historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., June 5-8.
