Dagenais Called Up to Canadian National Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami Hurricanes graduate student Melissa Dagenais has been called up to the Canadian Women’s national Team for the October window, Canada Soccer announced.

Canada will play Brazil in two international friendly matches on Oct. 28 and Oct. 31. The contests will be held at Saputo Stadium in Montreal and Wanderers Grounds in Halifax, respectively.

Dagenais, who hails from Saint-Hubert, Quebec, Canada, is being called up for the first time in her career.

During her time in the orange and green, the 6-foot-1 goalkeeper has recorded 248 saves, which ranks fourth in program history. Dagenais’ 13 career clean sheets are tied for the fourth-most by a Hurricane.

The two-time All-ACC Academic has earned 38 starts in 54 matches, totaling 4,457 minutes.

Dagenais and the Hurricanes resume action at Virginia Thursday evening. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
