Canes Take Both Individual Races at FAU Invitational
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Miami’s Austen Cannon and Emma Maurel finished first in their respective 5K races at the season-opening FAU Invitational Friday night.
Miami’s women’s team finished in first place out of 18 teams, scoring 38 points, 15 ahead of second-place UCF. The Canes’ men’s squad finished second, two points behind Daytona State College, in the 16-team field.
Cannon posted a winning time of 15:29.70. Cormac O’Brien finished in fifth place (15:58.20) and Enrique Borrego took 10th (16:11.70).
Maurel took first with a time of 18:12.50. Madeline Scheler finished fourth (18:15.90) and Lexi Arambulo placed 10th (18:31.70).
