
Barrett and Byrne Earn Top-25 Finish at ACC Championships
GREENSBORO, N.C.—The University of Miami golf team concluded play at the ACC Championships on Friday at the par-72, 7,127-yard Sedgefield Country Club.
Senior Daniella Barrett and third-year sophomore Sara Byrne led the way for the Hurricanes.Barrett and Byrne both had a 54-hole score of 221 (+5) to finish tied for 24th. Barrett had two rounds of even-par, while Byrne had one round under-par, with a 71 (-1).
Freshman Elisa Villamizar and senior Franziska Sliper both finished within a stroke of each other. Villamizar posted a score of 241 (+25) and Sliper recorded a 26-over par.
Freshman Katie Carman rounded out the lineup, with a final score of 248 (+32).
The Canes finished 12th with a team score of 924 (+60).
ACC Tournament play continues Saturday and Sunday to determine a team winner. The top-four teams – Wake Forest (845; -19), Duke (853; -11), Clemson (857; -7), and Virginia (865; +1) – advanced to the semifinals.
