MBB Ranked No. 20/19 in National Polls
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team holds a top-25 ranking in both major polls for the seventh consecutive week, including a top-20 position in each for the fifth straight time.
Miami (15-4, 6-3 ACC) places No. 20 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and No. 19 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, as announced Monday afternoon.
The Hurricanes fell three spots on both lists after splitting two contests last week. Miami posted an 82-78 victory Monday night against Syracuse at the Watsco Center. The Hurricanes then dropped a narrow 68-66 result Saturday afternoon on the road at Duke.
Miami is one of four ACC teams in the top 25 of the Coaches Poll, alongside sixth-ranked Virginia, No. 23 Clemson and No. 25 Duke. In the AP Poll, Virginia is seventh, Clemson is No. 24 and Duke is first among the “receiving votes” category.
The Hurricanes are back in action Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Florida State, live on ESPNU from the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, Fla.
