CORAL GABLES, Fla. — University of Miami head soccer coach Sarah Barnes released the team’s schedule for the 2022 season Monday.
The Hurricanes’ slate is highlighted by 10 matches at Cobb Stadium and seven contests against programs that reached the NCAA Championship, including the defending national champion.
“We’re excited for the 2022 season to begin,” Barnes said. “Our schedule features numerous high-caliber opponents from different conferences. Our goal is to create challenging non-conference matchups that will prepare us for our ACC season.”
Miami kicks off its schedule with seven non-conference tilts, featuring a pair of SEC powers, a Big 12 team and four foes from the Sunshine State.
The Hurricanes start with back-to-back home contests versus Mississippi State and Alabama on Aug. 18 (7 p.m.) and Aug. 21 (5 p.m.), respectively. The opener against the Bulldogs will mark the first meeting between the two sides since 2000.
Miami’s first road affair comes in Boca Raton versus FAU on Aug. 25.
The Canes return to Coral Gables for one of its two three-match homestands, clashing with UNF, FIU and Oklahoma State from Aug. 28 – Sept. 4.
