Robinson, Williams Impress on Day 3 in Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. — Miami Hurricanes standouts Russell Robinson and Jeff Williams were among those to impress on Day 3 of the NCAA Track & Field Championships at historic Hayward Field Friday.
Williams, an NCAA first-team All-American, improved his own school record in the discus Friday evening. The Concord, Calif., native finished sixth nationally in the discus with a distance of 59.86m to earn All-America honors.
Robinson, one of the ACC’s best performers in the triple jump, was a second-team All-American in the event. The Windermere, Fla., native posted a distance of 15.84m to earn a top-16 finish and secure All-America recognition.
Isaiah Holmes also competed Friday after earning a spot in the NCAA high jump.
The Hurricanes conclude action from the NCAA Track & Field Championships on Saturday.
