CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (4-0) is rolling, tallying its fourth victory in a row on Saturday, a 7-0 win over the North Florida Ospreys (0-2) at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The seventh-ranked doubles pair of Franco Aubone and Benjamin Hannestad continuing its winning ways on Saturday, defeating North Florida’s No. 1 doubles duo, 6-2, to start the match. Fifth-year senior Bojan Jankulovski and fourth-year junior Juan Martin Jalif clinched the doubles point for Miami with a 7-5 victory over North Florida’s third doubles team.
Graduate transfer Dan Martin earned his first victory of the season in the top singles spot with a decisive 6-2, 6-3 win over Jonas Hartenstein. Freshman Casper Christensen added to the Canes point total, tallying his second win of the season, a 6-2, 6-2 victory over North Florida’s Breno Marques.
The deciding match came down to the second singles court where Hannestad defeated the opposition PJ Kotan, 7-5, 6-3, for his fourth straight singles win. Hannestad, along with Christensen, Jalif, freshman Martin Katz and fourth-year junior Oren Vasser all remain undefeated in both singles and doubles play.
