Mallory enjoyed a strong 2020 campaign, seeing action in all 11 games and making seven starts. The Jacksonville native hauled in 22 passes for 329 yards with four touchdowns, ranking fifth on the team in receptions, fifth in yards and third in touchdown catches.

One of Mallory’s top performances a season ago came in a come-from-behind win at NC State, where he posted a career-high six receptions for 58 yards including a touchdown catch. He also had 67 receiving yards on four catches in Miami’s Cheez-It Bowl appearance versus Oklahoma State. In three seasons at The U, Mallory has totaled 43 receptions, 659 yards and seven touchdowns while seeing action in 34 games.

Mallory became the fourth Hurricane recognized with preseason honors, joining quarterback D’Eriq King (Maxwell Award, O’Brien Award), safety Bubba Bolden (Bednarik Award) and wide receiver Michael Harley (Biletnikoff Award).

Awarded annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the John Mackey Award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee.
