Day One at the Sunshine State Invite Comes to a Close
SARASOTA, Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team wrapped up day one at the Sunshine State Invitational with three third-place finishes in a field of seven teams in Sarasota, Fla.
The Miami 2v4 kicked off the afternoon, placing third in its race with a time of 9:04.58, trailing only UCF and Clemson. The 1v4 finished its 2,000 meters in 8:39.07, good for a fifth-place finish in its event.
The 1v8 posted the Canes’ best time of the day, crossing the finish line sixth, with a time of 7:24.63. The Miami 2v8 and 3v8 each finished third in their respective races, posting times of 7:32.45 and 7:56.89, respectively.
The Canes will have another opportunity to race on Saturday at day two of the Sunshine State Invite. The schedule is as follows:
8:00 a.m. – 1v8
8:15 a.m. – 2v8
8:30 a.m. – 1v4
8:45 a.m. – 3v8
9:00 a.m. – 2v4
