Miami Meets Clemson on Sunday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami looks to rebound on Sunday when it heads up to Clemson, S.C. to take on the Tigers for the second time this season. Tipoff at Littlejohn Coliseum is set for 1 p.m. on ACC Network with Sam Ravech and Mike Thibault on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on WVUM 90.5.

Miami and Clemson have met 19 times in program history with 17 of the 19 meetings coming since the Canes joined the ACC prior to the 2004-05 season. Miami holds the 12-7 series advantage, including a 12-5 mark in ACC play. Two of the seven losses came prior to 2000 (60-49 in 1998, 74-59 in 1981).

The Canes came out on top earlier this season, holding on to defeat the Tigers 68-64 in Miami. Clemson fought its way back in the game to tie the game at 64 after being down 22. However, a clutch 3-pointer by Kelsey Marshall sealed the victory for the Canes.

Miami is still looking for its first road win of the season after falling short of Virginia, 69-64, on Thursday. The Canes boasted a 22-point lead in the game, but a red-hot second half by the Cavs gave the home team the victory.

Coming off a historic season, the Tigers are rebuilding this season and currently sit at 7-18 (3-11 ACC). Clemson is in the midst of a seven-game skid and is looking for its first win since Jan. 19. Five of the seven losses were double-digit deficits for the Tigers.

The threes were falling for the Canes on Thursday as the team knocked down 13 shots from beyond the arc. Miami’s 13 threes at Virginia were the most by the Canes in an ACC game since Miami recorded 13 against No. 5 Maryland on Jan. 12, 2012. Junior Kelsey Marshall had a career-outing on Thursday, setting new career highs in scoring (25) and 3-pointers made (seven).
