Canes Set For Top-25 Showdown

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 19/18 Miami women’s basketball team returns to the Watsco Center on Friday when it hosts No. 7/5 Oregon State in a top-25 showdown. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. and the game will air on ACC Network Extra with Alex Schwartz and Megan Perry on the call.

The Canes are 1-1 all-time against teams from Oregon, but have never met the Beavers on the basketball court in program history.

This is the 13th annual Miami Thanksgiving Tournament. Miami is 23-1 overall in the tournament with their only loss coming to No. 15/15 Maryland in 2017. The Canes have won 11 of the 12 Thanksgiving tournaments. 

Miami is coming off a 1-1 showing at the Maggie Dixon Classic, falling to No. 19/20 DePaul, 89-83, in the championship game. The Canes currently sit at 4-1 on the season and are 3-0 when playing at home. 

Seventh-ranked Oregon State remains undefeated through five games this year, and is coming off a WNIT Preseason Tournament victory. Four Beavers are averaging double-figures this season, led by Taylor Jones (16.4 points per game).

Season and single-game tickets for the 2019-20 women’s basketball home schedule are on sale now and start a $75 and $5, respectively. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the ticket office at 1-800-GO-CANES.
