Deem Announces 2020 Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Amy Deem announced Miami’s 2020 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
“This schedule provides our team plenty of opportunities to compete among the top programs in the country,” Deem said. “Our indoor season will be challenging and I’m excited to see how our team responds to it.”
The Canes are scheduled for four indoor meets prior to traveling to South Bend, Ind., for the ACC Indoor Championships (Feb. 27-29). Miami will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., (Jan. 10-11) and Nashville, Tenn. (Jan. 17-18) for the first time during indoor competition in the last 10 years to begin the 2020 season.
After an off week, the Canes will return to Lubbock, Texas, for the Texas Tech Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). Miami will return to the Tiger Paw Invitational on Feb. 14-15 and will end the highly touted indoor season in Albuquerque, N.M., for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
After a long road stint of indoor meets, Miami will open the outdoor season on its home track for the annual Hurricane Invitational from March 20-21. Miami will travel to Oxford, Miss., for the third-ever Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge, hosted by Ole Miss. The meet features five Power 5 track and field programs all led by female head coaches: Miami, Tennessee, Ohio State, Ole Miss and USC.
The Canes will host its last home meet on April 10-11 for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational before traveling across the country for the historic Mt. Sac Relays April 16-18 in Walnut, Calif. Miami will end its regular outdoor season at the LSU Invitational from May 1-2 before traveling to the ACC Outdoor Championships hosted by Duke on May 14-16.
The University of Kentucky will host the NCAA East Prelims on May 28-30 and return to Austin, Texas, for the NCAA Outdoor Championships two weeks later (June 10-13).
