W. Tennis Concludes Play in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team wrapped up action Saturday at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships.
Competing in the doubles main draw, the Hurricanes went 1-2 to cap the weekend at 6-7 overall, including 3-2 in doubles play, at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Freshman Nada Dimovska and senior Yuna Ito dropped their second round matchup, 4-8, against Basak Akbas and Komola Umarova of FIU.
The fourth-seeded duo of sophomore Daevenia Achong and freshman Selma Cadar advanced into the quarterfinals with an 8-5 victory over Florida Atlantic’s Radka Buzkova and May Kimhi.
The Miami pair then fell, 4-8, to Nandini Das and Andrea Garcia of homestanding Florida State to cap the weekend.
Up next for the Hurricanes, following a weekend off, is the Texas Invitational, set to take place Nov. 1-3 in Austin, Texas.
