Golf Finishes 11th at Schooner Fall Classic
NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Miami golf team wrapped up play at the Schooner Fall Classic, placing 11th with a three-day total of 27-over 867. On Sunday, the Hurricanes finished four-over 284 at the par-70, 6,048-yard Belmar Golf Club.
“I feel like everyone is starting to know where their feet belong and getting a little more confident and secure with their game,” Miami head coach Patti Rizzo said. “I think we will just keep progressing forward in an upward direction from here.”
Rising to as high as a tie for third at three-under-par, senior Renate Grimstad capped the event with 10 birdies to finish tied for 10th at even-par.
Following closely behind at two-over-par and finishing tied for 20th, junior Kristyna Frydlova finished one-under 69 on Sunday, carding a team-high five birdies on the afternoon.
Rounding out the Hurricanes’ lineup, sophomore Anna Backman finished tied for 59th (12-over, 222), freshman Daniella Barrett tied for 64th (13-over, 223) and freshman Morgan Pankow finished 80th (33-over, 243).
Miami will return to action Oct. 12, when it competes in the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas.
