No. 25 Miami in 10th at Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate
NEW ORLEANS – The No. 25-ranked University of Miami golf team moved up two spots on Monday’s leaderboard at the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. After two rounds of play, the Hurricanes sit in 10th with a score of 603.
The three-day event is being held at the par 72, 6,239-yard English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Holding even-par through the final nine holes on Monday, including a birdie on the par five, 516-yard second hole, junior Macarena Aguilera finished the afternoon with a three-over, 75.
Aguilera was joined by graduate student Claudia De Antonio, who closed out the second day of action with a team-high two birdies to finish three-over-par.
Heading into the final day of competition, Aguilera sits in a tie for 53rd at 10-over-par, while Antonio is tied for 69th at 12-over-par.
Rounding out Miami’s lineup was junior Renate Grimstad (four-over, 76), freshman Anna Backman (five-over, 77) and sophomore Kristyna Frydlova (six-over, 78). Through two rounds, Grimstad sits in a tie for 28th, Backman tied for 35th and Frydlova tied for 39th.
