CORAL GABLES, Fla. –  The University of Miami volleyball program hosts North Carolina Friday at 7 p.m., the first of six home contests in an eight-match span at the Knight Sports Complex. 
 
Friday’s home match is the Hurricanes’ third home ACC match of the season and marks the 29th matchup against North Carolina, with Miami holding a 9-3 home record against the Tar Heels. 
 
The Canes return home with a 7-4 overall and a 3-1 mark in the ACC, having defeated Virginia last Sunday, 3-1, for their first road ACC win of the season. 
 
Miami had four players reach the 100 mark in last weekend’s matches. Outside hitters Kolby Bird, Chloe Brown and Elizaveta Lukianova all surpassed their 100th kill of the season, while freshman libero Emily Damon reached her 100th dig of the season. This is the third straight season Bird has recorded greater than 100 kills and the second consecutive season for Lukianova. 
 
Redshirt senior setter Haley Templeton recorded for 4,000th career assist for the Canes against Pittsburgh and became just the third Miami player to record such a feat. Templeton enters this weekend’s home matches 17th in the country with 4,047 assists. 
 
Junior transfer Bridget Wallenberger tallied her 800th career kill against Virginia on her final kill of the match, logging 13 total. The middle blocker has recorded 75 kills in 11 matches with the Canes after transferring from Milwaukee. 
 
In its last outing against North Carolina, Miami swept the Tar Heels, 3-0, at home. Last season’s win was the first time Miami has defeated the Tar Heels since 2013. North Carolina enters Friday’s match 5-8 and 1-3 in ACC picking up its lone conference win against NC State. 
 
North Carolina Is led by outside hitter Destiny Cox, who enters the match with 164 kills, and starting libero Mia Fradenburg ,who owns a team-best 167 digs, averaging 3.55 per set. 
 
Following Friday’s match, Miami will host NC State on Sunday at 2 p.m. NC State travels to Florida State before traveling south to Coral Gables with a 8-6 overall record and 2-2 ACC record. 
 
The University of Miami – Coral Gables Campus has introduced an updated parking policy for the 2018-19 school year. Enforcement is now extended to seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. PayByPhone and additional pay stations are available across all campus parking lots and garages to facilitate visitor parking.
