CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team plays its last game of the 2017-18 regular season Sunday at the Watsco Center.

Along with the senior day ceremony, head coach Katie Meier will be honored pregame for recording the 250th win of her Miami tenure Feb. 15 at Virginia. In addition, it is Sebastian the Ibis’ birthday party Sunday at the game. Team posters and schedule cards will be available at the marketing table by the main entrance.

Miami is 19-6 all-time against Virginia Tech and is riding its second-longest active winning streak against any foe with 13 straight wins versus the Hokies. In the season’s first matchup, the Hurricanes registered an 82-78 road triumph on Jan. 28, 2018.

The Hurricanes fell at Georgia Tech, 70-51, Thursday night in their last regular season road contest. Freshman guard Mykea Gray paced Miami with 18 points, her most in conference play.

Virginia Tech heads into the weekend with a 17-11 (6-9 ACC) record after dropping three of its past four games. Junior guard Taylor Emery paces the team in scoring at 18.0 points per game, good for fifth-best in the ACC.

After going 20-14 (4-12 ACC) and reaching the WNIT quarterfinals in 2016-17, Virginia Tech was tabbed No. 11/12 in this year’s ACC preseason poll.

The Hurricanes, who have already clinched a first-round bye in the ACC Tournament, will earn either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed with a victory Sunday. They will begin postseason play March 1 against a to-be-determined opponent in Greensboro, N.C.
