CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team resumes action Sunday afternoon against Vermont.
The Hurricanes, ranked No. 24 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, will square off with the Catamounts at 2 p.m. The Miami men’s team will then face Navy at 4 p.m.
Vermont is the first of four teams the Hurricanes are scheduled to meet this year that they have never previously played.
Miami is coming off a 77-69 victory over FIU in its season opener Friday night at the Watsco Center. Freshman guards Mykea Gray and Endia Banks combined for 42 points, tallying 27 and 15, respectively. The Hurricanes concluded the game on an 11-0 run over the final four-plus minutes.
The Catamounts dropped a 66-56 decision at Dartmouth Friday in their first game of the year. They are coming off a 9-20 (6-10 AE) campaign a year ago and were picked to finish seventh in the America East preseason poll.
Sunday afternoon’s contest is set to be broadcast on ACC Network Extra HERE, as well as carried live on WVUM 90.5 FM HERE. Live stats for the contest will be available HERE.
The first 100 students in attendance at the game receive a free shirt and it is military appreciation night at the Watsco Center. Team posters and schedule cards will be available at the marketing table by the main entrance.
At the conclusion of the contest, fans who wish to remain in the arena for the men’s game can do so and sit in any unoccupied seat.
After taking on the Catamounts, Miami will travel to Boulder, Colo., for its first road contest of the year, a 3 p.m. ET matchup Sunday at Colorado.
