CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team is set to open ACC Championship play Friday afternoon.

Seeded fourth, No. 32 Miami (11-10, 8-6 ACC) meets Boston College, seeded No. 12, at 1 p.m., at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Ga.

The Hurricanes are a top-four seed in the ACC Championship for the 13th year in a row—each one it has been a part of since joining the conference—and earned a double-bye into the quarterfinals.

Miami is 15-11 all-time in ACC Championship play and has earned six finals appearances, including last year. The lone other time the Hurricanes were seeded outside the top three was 2013 and they won the first ACC title in program history.

The Hurricanes are 23-1 all-time against Boston College with 15 shutout victories. This will be the first time the sides meet on a neutral court. The Eagles won the regular season matchup, 6-1, March 24 in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Entering the ACC Championship, Miami has two nationally-ranked singles players, with junior Sinead Lohan at No. 16 and freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba at No. 34. Both were First Team All-ACC picks.

Additionally, the doubles duo of Lohan and redshirt senior Maci Epstein holds the No. 73 spot on the ITA’s list.

After two victories in two days to begin ACC Championship play, Boston College sits at 11-13 (4-10 ACC) on the season.

Lexi Borr represents the Eagles in the ITA singles rankings, placing No. 110 nationally. Boston College does not have any ranked doubles pairs.
