@CanesWBB Season Banquet Set for May 1

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team will hold its annual team banquet May 1 at 6 p.m., at the Newman Alumni Center.

The Hurricanes will celebrate their superb 2016-17 campaign with a reception, followed by a dinner and program beginning at 7 p.m.

Miami went 24-9 (10-6 ACC) and finished the season ranked No. 19 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. The Hurricanes made the ACC Tournament semifinals and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

In addition, under the direction of 12th-year head coach Katie Meier, Miami posted four top-25 wins, including two over top-10 teams.

During the banquet, the Hurricanes will also recognize their senior class, which will go down as one of the finest in program history.

Fans are invited to join the team for its banquet, with adult tickets costing $60 per person and 12-and-under tickets costing $45. The deadline to order is April 24.
