@HurricanesGolf Tied for Fourth at the Briar’s Creek Invitational
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Miami women’s golf team is tied for fourth after two rounds at the 2017 Briar’s Creek Invitational. The two-day event is being at the par 72, 6,101-yard, Golf Club at Briar’s Creek.The Hurricanes fired team scores of 284 and 294 in rounds one and two, respectively. Miami owns a tournament total of 578 and sits just 15 team strokes behind Florida, which owns the tournament lead with a two-round lead.Sophomore Dewi Weber leads all Hurricane individuals with a two-round total of 141 and is tied for seventh. Weber posted rounds of 71 (round one) and 70 (round two).Freshman Filippa Moork also ranks in the top 10. The Miami freshman carded rounds of 70 and 72 and is tied for ninth (142), heading into the final round.Teammates Macarena Aguilera (tied for 41st), Renate Grimstad (tied for 48th) and Delfina Acosta (tied for 64th) rounded out the Hurricanes’ top five.Louisville’s Olivia Cason and College of Charleston’s Laura Fuenfstueck are both tied for first, heading into the final round.Final round action begins tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start.
