
@HurricanesGolf Opens Play at the UCF Challenge
ORLANDO – The University of Miami women’s golf team stands in ninth place after it posted a first round score of 287 at the 2017 UCF Invitational. The three-day event is being held at the par 72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club.
Freshman Renate Grimstad led the way for the Hurricanes as she posted an opening round score of six-under-par, 66. Her day one total of 66 is a single-round career best. The Sweden native is currently tied for second.
Grimstad finished the day with sixth birdies and did not post a single bogey.
Fellow freshman Filippa Moork also turned in a strong first round performance as she carded a two-under-par, 70.
Tournament host UCF leads all teams with a score of 280. Kentucky’s Isabelle Johansson leads all individuals after she fired an opening round of 64.
Miami returns to action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
