@CanesWBB Sets Special Events for ACC Play
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 11/11 University of Miami women’s basketball team will have several Special Event opportunities for fans of all ages in the upcoming winter months.
Following the Miami Holiday Tournament, the Hurricanes will begin ACC play at home against Florida State on Dec. 29. Against the seventh-ranked Seminoles, join the Hurricanes in celebration of the Festival of Lights, with the purchase of a special event ticket for $12.
With the ticket, fans will receive general admission into the Watsco Center, as well as a Hurricanes t-shirt, written out in Hebrew. During halftime there will be a menorah lighting ceremony in the Hurricanes 100 Room.
A week into the new year, Miami will host second-ranked Notre Dame and the first Hurricanes Princess Tea Party Jan. 8. The afternoon will consist of sing-a-long activities, a meet and greet with popular princess characters, a pregame tea party and high-fives with the players as they enter the court for warmups.
On Jan. 26, against North Carolina, fans can take part in a fun celebration of Dutch Culture and interact with the Hurricanes’ “Dutch Duo” of Emese Hof and Laura Cornelius in a postgame autograph session.
Three days later, Jan. 29, against Boston College the Hurricanes will host a special event for Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida. Those who purchase a special event ticket will have the opportunity to learn how to talk to customers, manage money, set goals and so much more in the first Cookie Palooza event.
On Feb. 12, the Hurricanes will hold two special events with the first being the third annual Celebration of Women’s Athletics. The event will feature a brunch immediately followed by the University of Miami women’s basketball game against Clemson. More information about the event can be found HERE.
The second event will be a one-day skill-building and performance opportunity for cheerleaders and dancers ages 5-17. Before the game, cheerleaders and dancers will take part in a 90-minute clinic and there will be an on-court performance at halftime.
Celebrate Sebastian the Ibis’ Birthday two weeks later, against Georgia Tech on Feb. 26. Fans are cordially invited to attend the birthday party of Miami’s famous mascot, as well as take part in all of the birthday fun, including a pizza party, card decorating and more.
In addition, prior to tip-off against the Yellow Jackets, fans will have an opportunity to take part in a delicious brunch paired with a lively game of Bingo, in the first Brunch n’ Bingo event held at the Watsco Center.
