CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team will welcome FIU to Cobb Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m., in a Miami-Dade County matchup.

The game will be the first regular season meeting between the Hurricanes and Panthers since 2008. Miami is 7-3-1 all-time against FIU, including 5-0-1 in the past six contests, with three consecutive victories.

Sunday’s affair will be Miami’s final non-conference outing of 2016 and will also end a six-game homeststand. The Hurricanes are 5-2-0 through their first seven matches and have posted five shutout wins.

The Hurricanes, under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Mary-Frances Monroe, are first nationally in assists (23), tied for first in points (63) and tied for fourth in goals (20). Freshman forward Kristina Fisher is tied for fourth in the country in points (17).

FIU is 0-5-1 this season and has been shut out in each of its past four matches. The Panthers posted an 8-11-0 (4-6-0) record in 2015.

As is the case with all matches at Cobb Stadium, entry to Sunday afternoon’s contest is free. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive Miami water bottles and team posters will be available for all fans.

Additionally, the game will be Military Appreciation Day at Cobb Stadium and veterans will be honored as a part of the Wounded Warrior Project.
