COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Miami swimming team continued its run at the 2015 Ohio State Invitational Saturday, posting another group of strong performances from the second day at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

Junior Angela Algee and senior My Fridell opened the run by capturing third and fourth in one of their signature events, the 100-yard butterfly. Algee toucehd the wall in a time of 53.90, while Fridell finished just behind her in 54.07.

Freshman Roxanne Yu finished third in the “C” final of the 100 fly, finishing in a time of 56.86.

Sophomore Ksenia Yuskova continued the momentum with a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:48.03), while sophomore Julie Suarez finished first in the “B” final of the same event (1:48.97).

Suarez’ finals time was the seventh-fastest time of any competitor.

Junior Julia Schippert scored points for Miami in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.57), finshing in sixth place. Junior Christina Leander followed Schippert’s performance with a sixth-place finish of her own in the 100 backstroke (54.06).

Yu, who has impressed in the early stages of her career, addded points for Miami by taking third in the “B” final of the 100 back (55.66).

Competing without their diving contingent, Miami finished the second day in fifth place with a score of 285 points.
