@CanesFutbol Season Opener Cancelled

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The University of Miami soccer team’s regular season opener against the College of Charleston Friday night was cancelled due weather.

The Hurricanes were set to take on the Cougars in their first of two matches at the Nike Charleston Classic, but will now be limited to just one. The match against the College of Charleston will not be rescheduled.

Previously, Miami had its exhibition match against FIU halted after almost 44 minutes due to weather and played just under 11 minutes in its exhibition contest against Stetson, also due to weather.

With Friday’s contest cancelled, the first match of Miami’s regular season will instead come against the Texas Longhorns Sunday at 12:00 p.m at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium. Live stats for the match will be available HERE.
