JP Friday Reps @MiamiTrack on Final Men's Day
EUGENE, Oregon – John-Patrick Friday was the University of Miami’s lone representative on the final day of men’s competition at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The junior, who was one of 24 competitors in the men’s triple jump, made his Hayward Field debut on Friday afternoon. Friday posted two legal marks in three attempts, opening with a mark of 15.52m and posting a mark of 15.69m in his final attempt to place 19th overall.
Friday was one of three Hurricane men competing in Eugene, Oregon, at the 2015 NCAA Championships. Artie Burns and Christian Cook were the first Hurricanes to compete at the 2015 NCAA Championships, running in the men’s 110m hurdles semifinal. Cook ran a personal-best time of 13.78 seconds, while Burns finished his season with a time of 13.83 seconds.
June 13 marks the final day of the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships and the Canes will compete in two events. Shakima Wimbley will kick things off for the Hurricanes, running the 400m final at 6:05 p.m. ET. The women’s 4x400m relay will close out the meet with their final, scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET.
The 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held June 10-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. All four days of action will be broadcast across the ESPN family of networks.
