CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Head coach Katie Meier and the Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team participated in the 26th Annual AIDS Walk Miami on Sunday.

“It was really fun just being there to interact with everyone that was involved with the walk,” freshman Adrienne Motley said. “The event staff really made the experience fun because they were so enthusiastic. Every corner we turned there was somebody cheering us on. It was fun to support the cause.”

The walk got started at the Miami Beach Convention Center and ended at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. The 3.1 mile walk-a-thon is a fundraiser than benefits Care Resource and the Food for Life Network.

In addition, this annual fundraiser serves as a “vital vehicle to raise awareness and funds to combat the effect HIV/AIDS continues to have on the South Florida region.”

All funds raised from the AIDS Walk Miami are used in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
