Donation Fund Set Up For Saunders and Family
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A donation fund has been set up to help Miami Hurricanes senior Krystal Saunders and her family recover after an electrical fire caused her family’s home to burn down in West Park, Fla.
On the night of the Miami Hurricanes’ women’s basketball win against Missouri, Krystal was with family members at her cousin’s sweet sixteen celebration when her mother received a phone call. Kala Williams learned her home had burnt down after an electrical fire caused the home to catch fire. Unfortunately, the family lost everything in the destruction.
In an effort to support Krystal and her family during the difficult time, a donation fund has been set up to help her family regain some of the valuables that were lost in the destruction. Checks can be made out to Kala Williams and must be delivered to women’s basketball director of operations Lonnette Hall. Checks can be sent to Lonnette at 1245 Dauer Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146 or may be delivered to an athletics staff member at a women’s basketball game on Dec. 15, Dec. 28, Dec. 29, or Jan. 1.
It is imperative that any member of the Miami community who wishes to donate money to the family follow the procedure above in order to ensure Krystal’s eligibility is not put in jeopardy. Please make sure all money is provided to Lonnette Hall or another athletics department staff member and not given directly to Krystal or her mother.
The entire University of Miami family thanks you in advance for your generosity to Krystal and her family.
