AUSTIN, Texas – The Miami Hurricanes women’s golf team sits just two strokes out of the lead Monday after two rounds of play at the Challenge at Onion Creek.

Miami posted rounds of 293 and 291 to finish the first day at 24-over 584. Texas Tech owns a two-stroke lead after posting a 22-over 582. Kansas, who posted the lowest score of the day with a second-round 289, is in second at 23-over 583. Host Texas State is fourth at 25-over 585, while Iowa and Coastal Carolina are tied for fifth at 29-over 589.

Texas Tech’s Elin Arvidsson is the only golfer under par through 36 holes after shooting 1-under 139. Coastal Carolina’s Marissa Hinchman is second at 1-over 141, followed by Kansas’ Thanuttra Boonraksasat and Grand Canyon’s Chorphaka Jaengkit at 2-over 142.

Freshman Daniela Darquea paced the Hurricanes during Monday’s play as she is tied for sixth overall at 4-over 144. Darquea carded back-to-back rounds of 72 and posted a tournament-leading 14 pars in the second round.

Junior Leticia Ras-Anderica and freshman Delfina Acosta are tied for 12th overall at 6-over 146. Behind five birdies, Ras-Anderica posted matching rounds of 73. Acosta shot a first-round 74 and followed with a 72 in the second round.

Sophomore Kailey Walsh is tied for 24th at 10-over 150, while junior Rika Park is tied for 30th at 13-over 153.
