Women's Hoops Rises to No. 21 in AP Poll

CORALGABLES, Fla. – The University ofMiami women’s basketball team continued its rise in the Associated Press Poll, movingup two spots to No. 21 in Monday’s rankings.

After re-emerging in the polls last week atNo. 23, the Hurricanes used convincing wins over Alcorn State and Davidson toadvance to their current position.

Senior Morgan Stroman, who earned all-ACCrecognition as a sophomore, has led the Hurricanes to their current 7-1 record.In the win over Davidson, the Hopkins, S.C. native recorded her second double-doubleof the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds. In the two games, she had acombined eight blocks and nine steals. Her career-high of six assists cameagainst Alcorn State.

The Canes will have a total of eight daysbetween games, before traveling to Rutgers on Dec. 16.
