WBB to Give Back at UM Thanksgiving Tourney
CORAL GABLES, Fla. –Miami women’s basketball hosts its annual Thanksgiving tournament this weekendand the Canes will take some time away from the court to give back to those inneed.
Head Coach Katie Meier and her coaching staff and playershave partnered with the Miami Coalition for the Homeless to feed over 200 ofthe Coalition’s members from various shelters throughout the city.
“I’m so proud of my players andour marketing department for committing to this cause,” Meier said. “As blessedas we all are, it’s always special to take time to give back. I know my playerswill sincerely enjoy the experience.”
Those traveling with the Coalition will enjoy Friday’s gamebetween the Hurricanes and Florida Atlantic at 5 p.m. ET. Immediatelyafterwards, Coach Meier and Miami players and coaches will join the MiamiCoalition for the Homeless in the BankUnited Center Multi-Purpose Room for ameal.
