Another prolific weekend for veteran wideouts Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne highlighted a strong Week Nine, which also saw stellar defensive performances from Calais Campbell and Ed Reed.

Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) – eight catches, 118 yards
With another week of recovery under his belt thanks to his team’s Week Eight bye, the tenth-year wideout continued his strong resurgence with a 118-yard showing against Buffalo. Johnson, who recorded his franchise-best 40th career 100-yard game in the win, jumped to No. 34 all-time in NFL receiving yards with another dominant showing. Johnson’s pivotal 34-yard catch, which brought the Texans into the redzone during a key stretch of the third quarter, marked his second-longest of the season.

Calais Campbell (Arizona Cardinals) – nine tackles, 0.5 sacks
The fifth-year defensive end led the Cardinals’ defense against Green Bay, finishing with a team-best nine tackles and 0.5 sacks. Campbell’s nine tackles, his second highest mark this year, brought his season total to an impressive 38 from his position at defensive end. Though his team fell to Green Bay 31-17, Campbell continued his rise among the league’s defensive elite with a first-quarter sack of Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) – seven catches, 78 yards, 1 touchdown
On a day quarterback Andrew Luck broke the rookie single-game passing record, his veteran wideout Reggie Wayne shined with a team-best seven catches. Wayne, who scored Indy’s first touchdown of the day on a nifty nine-yard grab in the back of the endzone, is the only receiver in the NFL with over 800 yards through Week Nine action. The 12th-year wideout ranks first in yards (835), second in catches (61) and first in targets (101) among all receivers.

Ed Reed (Baltimore Ravens) – five tackles, one interception
Baltimore’s 11th-year veteran sealed his legend as arguably the greatest safety of all-time with his 60th career interception, the most among all active players, during his team’s 25-15 win over Cleveland. Reed, who also made five tackles in his team’s win, became only the tenth player ever to record 60 interceptions over the course of a career. His third pick of the season, which was also his 11th career INT against Cleveland, was a pass intended for rookie Pro Cane Travis Benjamin.
