No. 23 Volleyball Drops to North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 23 Miami volleyball fellto North Carolina in three sets on Friday inside Carmichael Arena. The losssnaps the Canes’ 10-match winning streak.

UNCwon by the set scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18 to split the season series withUM. Miami won in four sets on Oct. 7 at the Knight Sports Complex.

Miami(20-4, 12-2 ACC) was led by junior libero Ryan Shaffer with 12 digs in the backrow. Sophomore outside hitter Savanah Leaf picked up eight kills on theoffense, while middle blocker Alexis Mourning and Emani Sims each had sixkills.

TheTar Heels (20-4, 11-3) hit .382 as a team to control the tempo of the match,also collecting 61 digs. UNC is now 11-0 at home this season.

TheCanes will continue their North Carolina trip with a match on Sunday against NCState at 1 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
