Yderstrom Earns ACC Honors, WBB Picked Fifth

GREENSBORO,N.C. –Miami’s Stefanie Yderstromhas been named to the Preseason All-ACC Team by the conference coaches and theleague’s Blue Ribbon Panel, while the Hurricanes were voted fifth in the CoachesPreseason Poll, as announced Tuesday by the conference office at the ACC Women’sBasketball Media Day.

This season for the first time, the ACCcoaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel voted separately on both the Preseason Polland the Preseason All-ACC Team.

After a junior season in which she earnedthird-team conference honors, leading the ACC with 68 three-pointers, Yderstrombecomes one of 10 women named to the Preseason Coaches and Blue Ribbon PanelPreseason All-ACC Teams.

The conference coaches voted the Hurricanesfifth in their preseason poll, while the Blue Ribbon Panel – made up of nationaland local media members – voted Miami has the ACC’s sixth-best team headinginto the 2012-13 season.

The Hurricanes open their season on Nov. 5with a home exhibition against Nova Southeastern. The regular season getsunderway on Nov. 9 against UNF.

Preseason Polls

Preseason All-ACC Team (Coaches and Blue Ribbon Panel)

There was a three-way tie for the Preseason Coaches Player of the Year between Marlyand’s Alyssa Thomas, Duke’s Elizabeth Williams and Duke’s Chelsea Gray. The Blue Ribbon Panel selected Thomas as its Preseason Player of the Year.
