Hill Breaks School Record En Route to NCAA Final

March 10, 2012

NAMPA, Idaho – The NCAA Indoor Championships got underway at the Jackson Indoor Facility on the campus of Boise State University, and the senior duo of Devon Hill and Tarika Williams competed in their preliminary rounds.

Hill placed second in his heat of the 60-meter hurdles with a new school record time of 7.60, breaking his old record of 7.67 from the NCAA Final a year ago. His prelim time was good for third overall, setting him up well for Saturday’s final, where he will look to improve on his third-place showing from last year’s championships. The 60-meter hurdle final is scheduled for 8:35 p.m. (Eastern Time).

Williams competed in the prelims of the 60 and 200 meters, finishing 14th in both races. Her 200 time of 23.71 was her second-best performance of the season.

The meet continues Saturday at 5 p.m. Eastern time with the Men’s High Jump.
