JACKSONVILLE – The University of Miami track and field team wrapped up competition at the North Florida Invitational Saturday afternoon at UNF’s Hodges Stadium Track and Field Facility.

The 4×100 relay team of Lamar Miller, Devon Hill, Travis Benjamin and Brandon McGee bettered their season-best mark with a fourth place finish at 40.46 seconds.

The field for the NCAA East Preliminary Round, held this year at Indiana University, will be announced next week.

On Friday, Devon Hill completed the 110m hurdles as the top collegiate finisher, outpacing 11 other student-athletes. Though wind aided (2.6), Hill’s time of 13.65 seconds was the best of his season and if not for the wind, would have tied the school’s all-time record.

Also competing Friday evening was freshman Bassim El-Sabawi in the 100m dash. The San Diego native cruised to a personal-best time 10.67 seconds.
