DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.  Maria Ronderos shot an 80 in her last round as a Hurricane on Saturday at NCAA East Regional in Daytona Beach. The senior finishes the year with a 74.68 season stroke average, seventh-best in the program’s history.

The Colombia native (+23) finished in a tie for 106th place in the tournament.

Ronderos’ season stroke average is the lowest since Tina Miller (74.23) in 2004-05. She had a remarkable season that included an All-ACC selection, a career-low round of 67 and an All-Tournament honor in the team’s win at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic in February. Ronderos played as the number one player for the Hurricanes all season.

No. 3 Alabama (+2) won the team competition, with No. 21 North Carolina, No. 10 Arizona State, No. 49 Coastal Carolina, No. 9 California, No. 4 Purdue and No. 23 Vanderbilt also advancing to the NCAA Championships in Bryan, Texas. Jessica Negron (E) of Florida State and Carolina Powers (+1) of Michigan State both advanced as individuals.
