GREENSBORO, N.C. –University of Miami senior Maria Ronderos has been named to the 2011 All-ACC Women’s Golf team, as announced by the league office on Monday. The team is selected by a vote among the league’s nine head coaches. Ronderos becomes the first Miami player to earn the honor since Tina Miller and Josie Shinn in 2005.

Ronderos posted the eighth-best stroke average (74.00) in the conference during the year, qualifying for the NCAA East Regional in Daytona Beach, Fla. as an individual. The regional will take place from May 5-7 at LPGA International.

The senior’s season stroke average also is the fourth-lowest in school history, and her round of 67 at the Eagle Landing Invitational in Jacksonville ties for the second-lowest in program history. Ronderos posted seven top-10 finishes this year.

The Colombia native proved to be durable once again, starting all 10 tournaments in 2010-11, making it 39 consecutive events she has played in since stepping on campus as a freshman.
