`Canes Finish Eighth at Sir Pizza Cards Challenge

FINAL RESULTS
WESTON, Fla. – Maria Ronderos shot a two-over par round of 74 on Tuesday to clinch a spot in the top-10 amongst individuals at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge. The team finished in eighth place out of 14 in the three-round tournament held at Weston Hills Golf Course.
Ronderos, a senior from Colombia, totaled seven birdies for the week to finish in a tie for 10th place. This was the fifth consecutive tournament she placed in the top-10 dating back to the fall season.
The Hurricanes (+57) finished in eighth place as a team, 19 strokes behind tournament champion Texas State (+38).
Shena Yang (-4) of USF was the medalist after defeating East Tennessee State’s Nina Muehl in a playoff.
Miami’s Christina Hirano and Patricia Arana both finished in a tie for 27th with 231 strokes on the week. Jennifer Hirano placed in a tie for 45th, and Carina Cuculiza completed the tournament in a tie for 48th. The field included 78 players this year.
Diana Fisher, playing as an individual, completed her first tournament of the spring with 255 strokes.
The Hurricanes will be back in action on March 11th when they travel to Jacksonville to compete in the three-day Eagle Landing Invitational.
