Hankerson Establishing Himself as an All-Time Great at Miami

University of Miami senior wide receiver Leonard Hankerson has picked up right where he left off last season. Through four games this year, Hankerson is ranks second in the ACC and 13th nationally in receiving yards per game (97.00).
Here are some notes on “Hank” and his career and 2010 season accomplishments:
– Hankerson had one of the best seasons in recent memory for a pass catcher at Miami in 2009. His 801 receiving yards last year were the 10th most in school history and the most since Andre Johnson recorded 1,092 yards in 2002.

-Hankerson has caught a pass in 17 straight games and leads the `Canes in catches (23), yards (388) and receiving touchdowns (6) through four games this season.
– Hankerson had his first multi-TD game of his career in the `Canes opener against FAMU, before hauling in a career-best and UM record-tying three against Clemson last weekend.
– He is now also tied for sixth all-time in UM history in career touchdown catches with 15.

– With a career-best 147 yards receiving yards at Clemson, Hankerson recorded his third career 100-yard receiving game. He nearly reached the 100-yard mark at No. 2 Ohio State earlier in the season, catching seven balls for 90 yards versus the Buckeyes.
– Following his performance at Clemson, Hankerson was named the College Football Performance Awards National Wide Receiver of the Week as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Back of the Week.
– With already having hauled in six touchdown catches through four games, Hankerson is on pace to break Michael Irvin’s school record of 11 receiving touchdowns in a season set back in 1986.
