Hurricanes Move Up to Eighth at Qdoba Invitational

Miami Lakes, Fla. – University of Miami sophomore Christina Hirano turned in a team-best three-over par 75 and the Hurricanes moved up to eighth as a team on day two of the Hurricanes’ Qdoba Invitational on Monday at Don Shula’s Golf Resort.
Miami is 13 strokes out of the top five with a team score of 619 after two rounds. Georgia State continues to lead the tournament at 14-over par 590, which is five strokes better than second place Louisville (595). NC State (598), Washington State (605) and Tulane (606) round out the top five.
Christina Hirano improved on day two after shooting six-over par in the first round on Sunday. She is tied for 22nd heading into the final round at nine-over 153 for the tournament. Freshman Jennifer Hirano shot seven-over par 79 to give her a two-day total of 154 to tie for 25th.
Begona Sarabia and Anabelle Paulino each shot 80 while sophomore Maria Ronderos finished with an 81. Ronderos is tied for 28th with a two-day total of 155.
The final round of the tournament is slated to tee off at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
