Miami is coming off a tough 58-60 loss to their cross-town rival Florida International.  The Hurricanes led for most of the game but couldn’t hang on in the waning minutes.  They look to get above .500 for the second time this season against the Houston Cougars out of Conference-USA.

In the loss to FIU LaToya Cunningham came out on fire as she scored 12 first-half points.  However, in the second half the Golden Panthers kept her scoreless.  Maurita Reid, as usual, led the team in scoring as she was trying to lead her team to victory, she finished the night with 15 points.

A Look at Houston

The Houston Cougars are coming off a 66-63 upset victory over Texas Tech on Tuesday night.  Houston has historically played well against UM, winners of five straight in the series that dates back to 1982.

Houston is led by Twiggy McIntyre and Tye Jackson who each score just over 12 points per game.

The Series

This will be the seventh meeting between UH and Miami with Houston winning five straight, including an 82-73 in the 2006 meeting.
